Emergency Preparedness

An emergency can occur any place, any time and can appear suddenly and without warning.

But the family that prepares ahead of time will have a lower risk of injury, less stress, and be able to get back to normal more smoothly when the emergency has passed.

The health unit strongly recommends families do plan for the unexpected and have materials on hand that will allow them to be self-sufficient for at least three days during an emergency. It also helps to draw up a list of which emergencies are most likely to occur in your area.

To start planning, use the resources to the left; which will help you and your family prepare for an emergency.
